You can complete a baccalaureate degree in business with as little as four basic mathematics-related courses: a college algebra course required of all students, two accounting courses, and a course on statistical methods. We do, however, recommend taking an elective course in calculus if you plan on pursuing graduate work in business.

Are there business-related internships available that will fulfill Elmira College’s career-related internship requirement? Does the Business Administration International Business (BAIB) require an international internship experience?

Yes to both. Business-related internship opportunities are often available through area employers to fulfill this requirement.

The completion of a Business Administration International Business (BAIB) internship (not to be confused with the Career Related Field Experience) is a specific degree requirement of the BAIB Specialization. The BAIB career-related internship degree at Elmira College involves an integral international internship that is normally undertaken at the end of a student’s junior year, which satisfies this requirement.

Students must demonstrate a proficiency in a foreign language either by completion of two foreign language courses at the 3000 level or above, or by completion of an competency examination.
